Buffalo Sewer Authority CSO No. 026 RTC Structure

JM Davidson Engineering, D.P.C. (JMD) was subcontracted by GHD Inc. to serve as a Resident Inspector Trainer and provide construction administration support for installation of a Real Time Control (RTC) structure within the Smith Street right-of-way, between the northbound I-190 ramp and Perry Street.  In this role, JMD served as a daily point of contact for the Buffalo Sewer Authority’s (BSA’s) Construction Inspector to assist with questions and communication between the numerous parties involved in construction, including the contractor, design engineer, New York State Thruway Authority, Buffalo Water and Public Works Departments, and utility companies.

JMD worked with BSA’s Construction Inspector to transition from hard copy to electronic daily inspection forms and electronic document maintenance.  In addition, JMD was responsible for the following construction administration support tasks:

  • Submittal, request for information, and change order reviews, as necessary
  • Routine site visits (2-3 visits/week) and photographs
  • Preparing weekly progress reports
  • Attending progress meetings and drafting meeting minutes
  • Reviewing daily inspection reports
  • Reviewing contractor pay applications
  • Verifying construction documents were being maintained
