Iroquois Pumping Station Rehabilitation

JM Davidson Engineering, D.P.C. (JMD), as a subconsultant to Wendel, provided full time Construction Inspection for improvements to the existing Iroquois Pumping Station, located on Iroquois Avenue in Lancaster, NY.  The project included replacement of two existing pumps with new 1900 GPM centrifugal pumps; replacement of suction and discharge piping, an existing maintenance lift, and dry well concrete floor; installation of new bypass pipe and valves, new wet well ventilation, and a new flow meter; facia and masonry repairs; electrical modifications and site improvements. 

JMD was responsible for the following tasks:

  • Day-to-day record keeping and preparation of daily inspection reports.
  • Photographs of the construction progress.
  • Maintaining red-line drawings of construction changes.
  • Monitoring vendor equipment deliveries and associated lead times.
  • Reviewing contractor payment applications.
  • Reviewing requests for information and change order requests, as needed.
  • Identifying field orders and potential contract modifications.
  • Facilitating communication between the engineer, contractors and client regarding field questions or issues.
  • Assisting with punch list development and resolution of outstanding items.
  • Attending progress meetings.
