LeRoy Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades - Phase 1

JM Davidson Engineering, D.P.C. (JMD) was subcontracted by CPL to assist with the development of contract documents  for a series of upgrades to the Village of LeRoy’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).  

JMD was responsible for the following upgrades:

  • Design and detailing of a new influent structure, including bar screen, grit removal system, Parshall flume, concrete tanks and channels, and building foundations
  • Design of new primary clarifier tank
  • Modifications to existing primary clarifiers
  • Site grading and site improvements, including a site access roadway
In addition, JMD was responsible for the design and detailing of several building repairs related to removal of large process tanks that penetrated through several stories of the process building.  As a result of the tank removals, new framing to infill concrete floors and framing to replace open steel grating floor penetrations was required to create usable space for a future maintenance shop.  This work included:
  • Analysis of the existing floor systems to ensure adequate support of the additional dead and live loads
  • Analysis of the roof structure for additional HVAC equipment and penetrations
  • Analysis of concrete floor slabs for the weight and vibration of new equipment
  • Design of concrete repairs to the process building foundation and an adjacent aeration tank
