Village of Little Valley WWTP Upgrades

JM Davidson Engineering, D.P.C. (JMD), as a subconsultant to Nussbaumer & Clarke, Inc., provided full time Construction Inspection for Phase 2 of improvements to the existing wastewater treatment plant located in the Village of Little Valley, NY.  The project included replacement of an existing comminutor with a new mechanically-cleaned fine bar screen with an integral washer-compactor, removal and replacement of three new raw sewage influent pumps, removal and replacement of three rotating biological contactors (RBCs) including motors, drive assemblies, controls and covers, construction of a fourth RBC including a new reinforced concrete tank,  miscellaneous structural repairs, electrical upgrades and site improvements. 

JMD was responsible for the following tasks:

• Day-to-day record keeping and preparation of daily inspection reports.
• Photographing construction process.
• Maintaining red-line drawings of construction changes.
• Monitoring vendor equipment deliveries and associated lead times.
• Reviewing contractor payment applications.
• Reviewing requests for information and change order requests, as needed.
• Identifying field orders and potential contract modifications.
• Facilitating communication between the engineer, contractors and client regarding field questions or issues.
• Assisting with punch list development and resolution of outstanding items.
• Attending progress meetings
